Lucas Taylor: I think one step at a time

Right winger of FC Lviv talks about his life in Ukraine

— Lucas, you have abruptly changed your life in the summer by moving from the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais to the Ukrainian city of Lviv. How long did the adaptation process take?

— I needed to adapt quickly, because I didn’t have time to prepare. But, at moment the process is ok. I like the city.

— It is widely assumed that the administrative center of Galicia is the most beautiful city in Ukraine. Have you studied Lviv well? Do you have your favorite places?

— I just studied of Lviv, such as: the coin, weather, countries next to Ukrainian and colonization process. My favorite places are the downtown of city, and some restaurants.

— You recently said that you are gradually studying Ukrainian. How far have you progressed?

— I am studying English. I just know some words in Ukrainian, such as: thank you or good morning or good afternoon, but I plan to know more words.

— As for football: can you disclose the secret how did you attract the attention of FC Lviv scouts, and how long have you been thinking about the transfer to Ukraine?

— I always had a project to play outside and the club was a project to bring Brazilians player, so this facility my transfer.

— Our Championship is very difficult, especially for players who are accustomed to the style of playing involving skills and possession. Not every Latino can feel comfortable here, not everyone gets over…

— Yes, but I think with passing of training and games time, it’s possible to accustom to the style.

— What did you know about our League before you came? Which Brazilian players do you know, maybe you have someone you look up to?

— I didn’t know very well. My friends who played here just spoke to me about that the League was difficult and disputed. I like the Daniel Alves style (Paris Saint-Germain) and Marcelo Vieira style (Real Madrid).

— After coming to us, Brazilians often create communities and disengage themselves from the rest of players. This is, say the least, a specific phenomenon. What is the situation in Lviv regards to this issue?

— This situation doesn’t happen in the club. Despite we have difficulties between the languages, all the moment we talk and joke with each other every day.

— What is the goal you set up to achieve just as in Ukraine so too in football in general? This question is of vital importance as you spent most of your career in different loans.

— My goal is always playing the best of me, so I intend to play Champions League and, in the future, I think it would be interesting to dispute a World Cup, but I think one step at a time.
