15 years ago, in April 2008, at a regular meeting, the clubs’ principals signed a protocol on the creation of the "Premier League" Association of Professional Football Clubs of Ukraine.

... A few months before April 2008, the owners of the Premier League clubs decided to create the Ukrainian Premier League. It eventually happened in November 2007, when the principals of all the Premier League clubs took the relevant decision. There was also created A Supervisory Board, which included Ravil Safiullin (PFL President), Vitalii Danilov (FC Kharkiv), Petro Dyminskyi (FC Karpaty) and Vadym Rabinovich (FC Arsenal). During three months, this body managed the process of creating the UPL Regulations and Statute as well as the procedure for launching the Championship for the 2008/09 season.

The next meeting of the principals of the Premier League clubs took place exactly one month later - on December 15, 2007.

The process of creating a new football structure continued successfully, and on April 15, 2008, at the next meeting, a protocol on the creation of the Union of Professional Football Clubs of Ukraine "Premier League" was signed!

Since then, for 15 years, the Ukrainian Premier League has been going through all the stages of the formation of Ukrainian football. The League coped with the situation when russia annexed Crimea and started hostilities in the Donbass region. And since last August, despite all the difficulties the full-scale invasion of Ukraine brought to us, we continue to organize the Championship among the main and youth teams.

We work, we believe, we move forward!

Dear friends, we wish you endurance, faith in the future and our common victory!

Glory to the AFU!

Sincerely,

the Ukrainian Premier League team
