The FC Lviv goalkeeper describes his expectations of the following rounds, analyzes the specifics of the national championship and tells when he learned to deal with one-on-ones

- Oleksandr, your team earned the first victory this year but following that the critics continue to accuse FC Lviv of far too pragmatic football ...

- We, like any other team, go off of the available players. Therefore, we play counterattacking football. I think we demonstrate a good result, which, among other things, is illustrative of the high coaching intellect of Yuri Bakalov.

- Let’s continue with the match versus Karpaty: “Green and white” had only four shots on target. So, you did not have to work a lot?

- I would mention another thing: what is the average number of shots on target in our championship? If I am not mistaken (I used to look through the statistics) - it is two or six times per game. In addition, much depends on the quality of shots. We also should understand what and how to compare. For example, in the last match against Chornomorets, our shot rate on target was worse.

Another interesting point is how you play one-on-one: in the game against Karpaty, you never once made a mistake in this regard. With that, this aspect is the old weak spot of the Ukrainian goalkeepers. How do you work on it?

- (Laughing.) In FC Lviv, Taras Grebenyuk is the coach of goalkeepers. Just imagine: I get to him at the age of 31 and realize that I can’t play one-on-one, I cannot jump, I don’t know how to hold the body correctly, I play wrong with hands, etc. At 31 years old... I think that Taras Oleksandrovich is one of the best specialists in our football. Answering the question – it is completely his merit.

- In the first match after the winter, Bogdan Sarnavsky was the one who kept the goal of Lviv. Generally, since mid-autumn, you have being rotated with him, and in some sense, it resembles the situation in Metalurg Donetsk, where you were competing with Yuri Panki. Does such a situation contribute to the progress of both goalkeepers?

- This is a quite difficult question ... See, I can answer now something but in the future, when I may become a coach, I will perceive reality completely differently. I will almost certainly perceive football differently. Even if I want to be the main keeper, the coaches have a different vision and I trust them.

- In the next round, FC Lviv will play against Zoria and then against Desna. In both games you face your direct competitors in the fight for the first six. You would not wish this on your worst enemy!

- We have no other option than to win and that’s it.
