The company remains open to cooperation with the League regarding broadcasts of the Championship of Ukraine in the next seasons

First of all, the Ukrainian Premier League would like to express its sincere appreciation to Setanta Sports for coming to help of the Ukrainian football at the most difficult moment in our history. Preliminary talks with potential UPL broadcasters started long before the full-scale invasion, but Setanta was one of those broadcasters not deterred by the enormous risks at that time.

It is true that UPL has received a notice from Setanta Sports that the company has decided not to renew the three-year agreement with the League to broadcast the matches of the Championship starting next season. Given that the official broadcaster effectively did not get the possibility to exploit the full list of matches of the Championship, the offer lost its validity. However, it should be pointed out that the broadcast of the matches of the current season will be carried out in full, according to the agreement of the League with the official broadcaster.

After the three-year offer was withdrawn, Setanta Sports assured the Ukrainian Premier League that it remains open to cooperation and is ready for new negotiations regarding the broadcast of UPL matches, but given the current situation. Therefore, in the near future, the issue of broadcasting matches of the next UPL season will be resolved after the clubs have considered all available options and made appropriate decisions. We hope that we will be able to find the best solution for the development of the Ukrainian football.
